Heart of Darkness
A bitter cool air permeated the darkness. Little light from the moon above cut through the thick canopy of the forest, the gnarled trees blotting out the night sky. An eerie silence spread through the area, seemingly lifeless. In the distance the dancing flames that lit the gates to the fiendlord's keep danced, the faint sparkle of their movement visible in the distance. As the forest cleared the night sky became visible overhead, the moon glaring down on the massive structure that arose in the distance, illuminating it for any to see.

The keep was towering, a ghastly dragon gargoyle perched atop the highest point of the central structure. The gothic architecture of the walls and horrifying reliefs cut into them made it clear, this place was a source of evil and hate. A tall oak door stood at the end of a lengthy entrance, lit with the dancing flames. Shadows twisted and curled along the walls, as if following the adventurer to his doom. The door was shut, though it appeared easy enough to push ajar.

I'll guide you through this RP as the DM, I'll RP any NPCs or enemies that are encountered. Feel free to enter the keep.

Heart of Darkness
The tall oaken door opened with a ghostly howl revealing the mysteries of the fiendlord's keep. The entrance room was large, the dark onyx floor gleaming in refracted fire light. The space was open with a large gothic vaulted ceiling, mostly bare except for a oaken door on either side and an arched vaulted corridor ahead. At both sides of each passage flames danced to light the room. The passageway stretched into the distance, carpeted in a lush crimson rug accented in gold that lead into the interior of the ominous keep.

Sorry about the delay

Heart of Darkness
The footsteps — though muffled by the elegant rug which stretched the length of the passage — echoed through the corridor, seemingly moving with a life of their own. Spaced evenly every eight feet torches lit the walls on both sides, the flames dancing and licking the onyx. Relief carvings were set in between each set of torches, depicting scenes of vicious combat and creatures. Ahead the dim light illuminated a growing chamber.

The corridor opened into a oval room, it's ceiling domed high above where light could barely reach. The crimson rug ended revealing the smooth onyx floor once more. Ahead a double staircase twisted upwards, each side arcing like a reflection to a second floor loft. A corridor stretched into the darkness from the top of the stairs.
” He who enters my palace, what is it that you seek? ” A booming voice echoed through the domed chamber, it's acoustics amplifying it. ” Do you not know what dangers reside here? ” It asked again, coming from nowhere and everywhere all at once.

So far you have seen no one and it appeared abandoned, though the voice with no figure in sight says otherwise, lol.

Hiding, hmph! I'm all around you, you're just blind to my reach. ” The voice bellowed a response, as booming and core shaking as ever. ” If it is power you seek, then first you must prove yourself worthy of such a thing. ” the voice continued, trailing into nothingness as the sentence drew to an end.

A crashing roar of sound burst through the chamber, it's source the top of the double stairway. Stone walls parted to the right, a carving of tormented souls splitting in two to reveal a hidden passage. It was dark, the dim light did not travel far, absorbed by the darkness. The passage was narrow, the ceiling no higher than five feet. Sound traveled and was lost, there was no telling how far the corridor stretched.

Heart of Darkness
The soul wrenching sound of the sliding wall closing behind the lone seeker of power traveled down the dark chamber and faded into silence once more. Ahead far in the distance, a single point of light could be seen, growing steadily in size as the chamber carried on. After some time the light source became visible as a single torch lighting a small t-intersection in the chamber with a dark passage heading from each side.
If it's power of the body you seek, turn right. If it's power of the mind, to the left; lone wanderer. ” The voice came once more. ” Prove yourself and power you will have. ” The voice trailed away once more.

No problem, as you said we all are busy lol.

Heart of Darkness
The flicking flame grew dimmer behind the adventurer as the tunnel led on into the unknown. There was an eerie calm to the keep, though a omnipresent feeling of despair was woven through it.
I'm the unmaker of this world. The bringer of doom. ” The voice bellowed, reverberating though the corridor. ” This place, the fiendlord's keep is simply a vessel for my despair. A beacon for those with wicked hearts. ” It trailed away into the darkness.
The now familiar sound of stone sliding against stone — the rumble of the act — pierced the corridor. A beam of light illuminated the opening in the distance. The light flooded chamber as the walls slid apart revealing a large oval room, it's walls and floors the reflective black onyx. The walls featured more carvings, scenes of battle. The room was well lit, compared to the keep up to this point. Many torches lined the oval walls joined by four pedestals evenly spaced through the center of the room in a square, each housing a large fire. Directly across from the corridors opening was a large dark passage from which an unnatural rattle emanated. Staggering into the light an animated skeleton came into view, armed with a spear which gleamed in the fire light.

Combat time!

Heart of Darkness
The thwack of metal against hard bone echoed through the chamber, it's vaulted ceiling boosting the acoustics, allowing multiple waves of the sound to propagate. The skeleton seemed unaware of damage taken, the darkness and void of it's eyes symbolic.
” Good, aggression is good! ” the incorporeal voice bellowed out, delighted in the melee that had quickly erupted.
The skeleton staggered back with surprising speed, as if guided by wires. It put distance between it's rickety bones and the attacker, making room for it's spear. With the desired space gained the creature thrust the spear forward, arcing down towards his foes legs. The cool metal cut clean but shallow in the boney foes thigh, the spear quickly pulling back, readying for another strike.

Deceased attacks for 6 damage.
