    »  Gilgamesh was born in Zeal Palace, the son of two powerful and influencial mages. Great things were expected of him, but as he grew older it became apparent that Gilgamesh had no natural magical abilities whatsoever, a fact that brought great shame to his parents, even circulating rumors that his real father was Earthbound. Desperate to retain their status, his parents resorted to drastic measures; a magical circlet was bound to his head in a painful experimental ritual. He could now access the magic that had once eluded him, but at great cost. Every spell was agonizing, coursing painfully through his body before being cast, and when he eventually rebelled against his parents for their cruelty they finally cast him out. With nowhere else to go, a teenage Gilgamesh found himself in Algetty. Rejected by his own people and unaccepted by the Earthbound he now lived with, a teenage Gilgamesh began to foment resentment against all people. With no friends or family to speak of he had plenty of time on his hands, and he began to dedicate himself to the sword.

He would, however, quite literally find his destiny in time. Chrono and his friends were not the only ones who could jump from era to era, and after happening upon a small fragment of the enchanted blue crystal that allowed the heroes to move through time, Gilgamesh soon learned how to do so himself. Though his crystal piece broke after his first travel, he is now aware that such a thing is possible. For the time being his focus is on perfecting his swordmanship and learning how to fully control time travel, after which he plans to go back in time to stop his parents from carrying out their cruel experiment and take his revenge on the people of both Zeal and Algetty for their rejection.

Though spiteful and brash, Gilgamesh only truly wishes harm on those who hurt him. Though he appears cold and neutral at best to others, there may still be warmth in him for those who are willing and able to pull it out. Destiny seems to be pulling him in a destructive direction, but he is young, and there may still be a chance at redemption before he make his genocidal fantasty a reality.
