I was hoping for more replies here, but oh well.

I fell in love with this game back when it came out on Super Nintendo. I played it many times, and years later would even look up the Super Nintendo to my TV just to play this game. I was really happy when it came out on DS, and later the iPhone. Now for the versions.

SNES - Well, with it being the original, there is not much to say as most of what I will be saying will be making comparisons.

DS - I've heard most of the dialogue changes is really being more true to the original Japanese version. I find it interesting because of that. Still, I wish they had not changed any names. I still prefer tonic over potion, etc. It can be a bit frustrating and battle when you're trying to remember the new name of what you're looking for.

You get cut screens here, and I do enjoy them. (At least I did I'm playing the game on DS.)

The arena was boring. I just ignored that. The new Reptite dungeon can get boring really fast. Way too much back-and-forth in the same places. Still, it is easily ignored, and if you want to do it, you get new equipment. I like that there is new equipment to make you even stronger. Given how powerful the characters can get, that is just amusing in itself. The rest of the new dungeons were done better.

iPhone - I would imagine iPhone versions are the same, but I can't be sure about that. This is pretty much the DS version, but no arena or cut screens. This is definitely the most convenient one to play. Lol.

I was hesitant to get this one, because many of the reviews said that the controls were impossible, that Death Peak could not be finished. I ended up getting it, and the controls could definitely be better. I was able to finish through the whole game though. It just took some getting used to. The last game in the Tent of Horrors was my biggest issue. On the flipside, the tap as fast as you can games are much easier due to being able to use two fingers.

I enjoy all versions, though I wish the iPhone one had cut screens.

Yeah, however things are going to shift a lot in this chapter, I intend to reveal my central plotline in it. We will like move forward closer to Crono's arrival before the end of it, possibly a few jumps just depending on how things unfold.

Generally the way I tell my stories through these RPs is 'loosely structured' as in I have a general idea of what needs to be achieved to further the story, how we get there sometimes changes, since everyone has some say in that. And sometimes I change things on the fly lol.

Okay, knowing when they came helps. I was picturing sort of in the middle sense that seem to be where you were going before. 10 years before means other Mira could be five. LOL. I won't go that young though. She didn't live in Ioka until she was nine.

We have arrived 10 years before Crono and company, which I imagine should make for a pretty big age gap between Mira's no? In order not to completely fudge the Crono timeline (which will still happen with some of the things we're doing possibly being a setup for some of it) I never planned on us to have a large amount of interaction in Ioka, the action was to start quickly as it has and will pull us away. However it is important to note our "Mysterious Man" is purposely altering time with little regard for undoing Crono's work. So while we may be trying hard not to do anything that might change things, we may have little control over that.

I like the language concepts though, I had previously considered how I might explain that, I have some ideas.

Since they are about to enter Ioka Village, there are a few things I wanted to discuss.

65 million BC. The humans talk and a very simple manner. The Reptites speak better English than the human to do. Between that and the "Ayla word. La means 'fire.' Vos means 'big'" bit, there is a fan theory that English was originally the Reptite language. Ayla had humans pick up and use their language as their own as a way of remembering them.

There's also the theory that either the time gates or the entity is translating everything for time travelers. 65 million BC humans speak the simplest language, so that is how it translates. This could also mean that each time period has a different language.

Just something I thought should be figured out before they start interacting with early humans. That way, in bringing in younger Mira, if she comments on them talking strangely, I know exactly why they talk strange to her. Either they are talking like the enemy (which Crono and company also would've been doing) or it's not being translated perfectly.

Also, I've mentioned in previous posts that Mira's language is a combo of speech and gestures. Communication is obviously still possible without the gestures. I imagine it starting out as a hunting/fighting language when everyone had to keep quiet, and it crept into every day language. Like saying and signing "big" would be putting emphasis on that word, meaning "very big." They work both independently and together.

I also wanted to discuss young (other) Mira. How to use her without interfering with your plot plans. Also considering what age to make her. She's 32 (soon to be 33). At some point in her life, Crono and company came and helped defeat the reptites. Exactly when…? I left that vague on purpose. Figured I'd decide when I saw when in 65 million BC the group showed up.

The closer she is to current Mira's age, the more likely Mira would want to just ditch the quest. After all, this is what she's wanted for several months now. If she could just hide out for year, then she could just return home like nothing happened. The younger her other self is though, the less it is of a temptation. Fifteen is the youngest the other Mira can be. It'd also just be more fun to play her more on the younger side.
It's perfectly reasonable for you to just come running up behind us.
