Aurora had a wonderful childhood growing up in the quiet, tranquil village of Kalm. Her mother was a seamstress who went on to begin her own fashion label and sold her clothing across the globe. Her father was a stay at home parent and Aurora had an incredibly tight bond with him, as well as her older brother, Arkeus. 
It was obvious that Aurora had a natural attunemnt to the planet and was more magically able than most humans. When using Materia, the spells that she expelled were much more potent than normally able for a human. Her parents were concerned she was somehow linked to the Ancients but after numerous testing she had no linked ancestry.
When Aurora was fourteen, her father was involved in an accident and was completely paralysed. For the next two years, Aurora acted as his career whilst her mother continued with her fashion line and her brother went to work for Shinra.
Her father was no longer the man she remembered and he wanted to end his life. Aurora could not do it but after many months of thought, and seeing her father suffer so horribly, Aurora eventually euthanised him.
Nobody knew. Everybody thought it was just his body giving up on him and his time to go. She kept it a secret but felt incredibly awful.
Arkeus moved up the ranks of Shinra quickly and was able to live in the upper parts of Junon. When Aurora turned 18 she moved to Junon with her brother and worked in her mother’s clothing shop there.
One evening, she was introduced to Rufus and she found his charm and influence so incredibly attractive that she fell for him. They had a brief romance; one that Aurora thought would last forever. However, Rufus had simply used her for his own amusement and soon cast the fling aside.
Aurora was upset but she did not let it get to her. Then, just several weeks later, her brother was found dead in the Sector 6 coliseum. He had died fighting for money. Aurora knew her brother would never do something so stupid and refused to believe the story she was being spun.
After further investigation, she found he had been killed in an accident at Shinra. She was certain Rufus had something to do with it.
She bleached her dark brown hair to a light blonde and infiltrated Shinra HQ in order to finally find out the truth.

Biography: Karth grew up in the sector 6 slums of Midgar. Karth's father was a self-righteous man who fought the corruption of Don Corneo and was killed when Karth was a young boy. Karth's mother did her best to support the both of them, but money was scarce so Karth found himself buying and selling things that the people of Wall Market needed. Karth started with drugs, and rare valuables that had mysteriously gone missing. Over time, the teen began to develop strong connections and moved into just selling weapons and materia. Karth rationalized that what his buyers did with the weapons was not his fault unlike the drugs he watch destroy his clients. That was until his mother was taken as a candidate to be Don Corneo's wife by a man who wield a gun, a gun that Karth had sold him personally. 

Karth detested himself, left sector 6, and found himself in sector 7 trying to find a new path. That was where he found the truth about Mako and what ShinRa was doing to the planet. With no other useful skills or talents, Karth used his contacts to make a deal with Avalanche HQ. The deals continued until Karth proved himself to be their best supplier and joined the organization official, coordinating their weapons and materia to each of the cells and made the recent connection with Wutai.

Then one day everything changed: a disagreement over a project lead to Hojo using Victoria as a test subject, where she was forced to endure agonizing treatments day after day, until the effects accumulated to the point where she began to show signs of degradation. With her fate apparently sealed Hojo meant to discard her, but the attempt backfired and lead to her escape from the building, but not without a cost: her old life, her memories, her very personality were annihilated. It was through this ordeal that Nika came to exist, completely unaware of the world or who she had once been. Now a voice that only she can hear, who she refers to as “V” (an entity she claims to be the blue materia embedded in her right hand) urges her to seek out AVALANCHE, the only means of protection left to prevent recapture by ShinRa's forces.

It kinda makes me feel like we should  totally do a little stat based battle though, but I'm not too into pvp. How would you feel about running a little battle with me against some simple wererats or something else like that? Then we can see how we feel about that and go from there. 

I've got a part-time job where I can sit on my phone all day, and no other real obligations, so I've pretty much got all the time in the world to help keep things rolling.

And when we get others, if I'm not active for like 12 - 24 hours then I'm totally cool being skipped, but it probably won't be necessary. I'll make an ooc post at the very least if something does come up.


But all that aside...
Am I good to start a free role-play if nothing does go down any time soon? And possibly even run in a battle within that?

CHARACTER HISTORY

Born to a large Wutai family fifteen years prior to the war with Shinra, Kyo followed in the tradition of his lineage and trained with the rest of his kin to be a ninja. He studied the intricacies of materia, and sparred constantly with his siblings to refine his proficiency with blades and boomerangs. His hope was to one day take on all five floors of the Wutai Pagoda and bring honor to his family, but those dreams never had their chance.

On his fifteenth birthday his homeland went to war, and everything changed. Most of his family was lost, and his privileged lifestyle ceased to exist. Those he knew that still lived were scattered and disappeared over the next five years that followed, until he was finally left with no one.

Ten years later he made his way across the world to reconnect with some of his lost kin, and eventually he was recruited to acquire intel on the enemy for what he was led to believe was for the sake of Wutai. Stirred by the passion of his last remaining relatives he was given the codename “Void”, and made his way for Midgar, unsure of the path that lay ahead.
