This is just a little information I didn't know about, but for those who grew up with The Land Before Time and All Dogs Go To Heaven, two movies I remember loving from a young age. Judith did the voice for the girl who can talks to dogs in AGDTH and Ducky in TLBT, remember “Yep. Yep.” This girl was a pretty big star in the 80s for her age, was in more than 80 commercials and guest roles on TV and various movie roles. By the age of 7, she was making $100,000 a year. Her parents were both immigrants of welfare before her success so this was a huge deal to them.

Now, the sad part. Her father was a drunk, jealous, and paranoid that his wife was gonna leave with his daughter. He abused them for years and put a knife to little Judith saying he'd kill her if she left him. CPS was sent there twice, Judith was even diagnosed as being abused, but the wife said she didn't want to press charges so they left (probably for fear). On July 25th 1988, the father shot Judith and his wife while they slept, set them on fire, then shot himself. Judith was ten. TLBT and ADGTH were released after her death.  I looked and I think the Judith ducky was better than the one they got later.

I don't mean to bring people down with this or anything, but I grew up to those movies and its odd to think back and have no knowledge of it, not even notice the voice change, but for a kid thats pretty normal. Who knows where that girl may be today had she lived. She seemed to have a promising career, but not all child stars go anywhere. I suppose just food for thought.

I loved both of those movies as a kid, but I have never heard this. That's terrible though. Also perpetuates the stereotype of the stupid wife that refuses to leave her husband even if he's terribly abusive. Sadly, she and her daughter did not live happily ever after. Sigh.
