IN shock Cloud was oblivious to Raiden's approach and as he was swiftly kicked down his instincts kicked in, flailing he turned to meet eye to eye with Raiden. The pain visible in his eyes as they connected Cloud couldn't convey in words what was happening within him, how responsible he felt, but he understood that Raiden and Tsuna were not going to let him go on alone, even if he deeply wished they would. ” If this is the end, at least I know that my life, or what I remember of it, wasn't a waste. ” Cloud said to his friends as he pulled himself up from the elevator floor. With all three on board Cloud pressed the button for floor sixty-nine, the end of the line for the elevator The wide was swift, as they only had two floors to rise, when the doors opened and Cloud had moved out of the lobby and entered the main area he was taken aback by the grandeur of it all, the two massive staircases complete with lavish purple rugs that turn upwards to the final floor. Around him Cloud took in little, the deserted nature of the floor which would usually be bustling with activity and aides running back and forth, many of their offices located on this level. ” We're in the right place. ” Cloud said as he reached the foot of the stairs, a trail of now familiar crimson red leading upwards on the right side. Lifting his boot he took the first step and stairs upwards.

Once they were inside the elevator he moved to the open glass once more, taking in one last sight of the city so far below. 'Might be the last time I see a view like this. I just wish it wasn't of this city.' Raiden mused as they rode the elevator, until the tell-tale bing hit his ears, notifying the group that they had gone as far as they could on the elevator. Raiden quickly stepped out of the elevator, just a few steps behind Cloud, and whistled at the lavish finery that decorated this floor. If he hadn't known better he'd have assumed this was a penthouse floor, not the offices of the most powerful members of the Shinra Electric Power Company.
As they made their way to the staircase that would take them to the presidential office, he couldn't help but take note of the lack of living or dead people. Raiden was certain that there was something strange about all of this, but he wasn't sure if it was as simple as Cloud would have them believe. As they approached their destination, the staircase to the presiden't office, a bloody trail moving up the stairway made itself obvious. “You think so?” Raiden questioned sarcastically, eyes still fixated upon the blood stain. “I'd guess the trail of blood is an invitation of sorts, so let's not keep our hosts waiting.” Raiden began to move up the stairs, neither hand anywhere near his weaponry. Those responsible for this had much and more to answer for before they met with their fates.

Tsuna waited unmoving during the elevator ride. His life goal had been taken from him and he had nothing left. Nothing, but pure rage. With Hojo, he wanted to show no matter what he did to him, he still had his diginity and class. He had no such disposition with the ones that killed him. They would recieve all the pain ShinRa delivered onto him.
As he exited the elevator, Tsuna removed his sword and put the tip to the rug, cutting it as he walked. His body moved as if by a machine, his eyes darting around the room to take everything in. The blood trail was an easy sign to follow, but traps may lurk in other areas. Tsuna wanted to speak to his allies had he once had, but his mind stopped him. He had nothing things to worry about than idle chit chat. CM-3 was out to play.
There was a clear tension permeating the top floors of the Shinra HQ. Cloud's heart was racing, he truly feared what he would find, Sephiroth's fiery eyes that would meet his and something inside him would be revealed, there was no turning away now. Taking both a real and figurative step, Cloud began to ascend the stairs, his pulse rising as he climbed higher. The final floor of Shinra Headquarters was lavish, the smooth metallic floors crisscrossing in a pattern with fine carpeting of tans and black. In the In the center of the room a massive desk, shaped like a horse shoe, it's top housing the flickering light of monitor screens where President Shinra would track all the important data in his company. In the chair the corpse of the President of Shinra Electric Power Company was slumped, a pool of crimson blood oozing and growing on the floor. At the president's feet another man's body was leaning against the chair, his chest still moving up and down, his eyes tracking the new comers. The man was dressed fine, in a blue suit with a bright read tie, both stained with blood. His face was distinct featuring a dark mustache and goatee, though he was pale. ” Not what you were expecting to find up here is it? ” The man spoke, his arms clutching at a deep wound in his chest like the wound of the president caused by Sephiroth's blade, his style clear and present. ” If you're looking for Sephiroth he's gone, chasing a 'ghost'. ” The main said with a cough that sent blood running down his chin and onto his fine blue suit jacket and the collar of his pressed white dress shirt. ” He's.. he's not even here! ” Cloud said, the anger and frustration in his voice breaking free and booming though the openness of the president's office. ” After all of this, he's not even here! ” Cloud continued as tears began to stream down his face, the feeling of hopelessness grasping him by the soul and pulling.

Raiden could scarcely believe the sight before him, the mangled body of President Shinra slumped in his chair and growing colder with every passing second. If the others had come further up the tower with them, they would have undoubtedly rejoiced at the sight. There was no sign of Sephiroth or Genesis in the room, however, and that left him gritting his teeth in frustration. They wouldn't find the answers they sought here, no they would have to continue this ridiculous game of cat and mouse they were playing. “I think we're the ones chasing a ghost.” Raiden muttered angrily as he began to approach the dying man.
“You're pretty screwed, with a wound like that.” Raiden stated matter-of-factly as he stopped in front of the man, his arms folded as he stared down at him. If they were to continue forward they would need a scent to follow, and this corpse-to-be was there best hope for that. “but if you tell us which way Genesis and Sephiroth went, I swear we'll do everything in our power to kill them. What do you say?”

The top floor of the ShinRa was full of disappointments CM-3 had never felt. He never had expectations of what would happen to him while in captivity. He knew it would be bad and ShinRa never disappointed, but now he would normally be thrown into wild emotions. Thankfully, or unforuntately, those emotions were gone. CM-3 stepped cool and composed into the mess his target had left. Raiden rushed to interrogate the guy, a good plan.
CM-3 wanted to help get information, but any close interaction may prove bad. The failed experiment moved directly across the room from the wounded man and sat down with his sword horizontal to the ground and tip hitting the floor. His left hand went into his pocket to grab his green die which now had a red tiny as his right hand held his blade steady. His eyes stayed on the strange glow thinking about what Hojo had said. was this one of his friends turned into a monster. He would find out when he decided to roll it again, “Or we can make it swift.” CM-3 directed his statement towards the man, but never took his eyes off the die.
The wounded man gazed up at Raiden, his eyes meeting those of the once Turk, he was going unrecognized. Shifting his gaze to Cloud, another figure he was fully aware of, thinking that in fact all three of them were significant. He smiled realizing the truth of the matter, wishing now that he had not given his life in a futile attempt to save the president, as Sephiroth was going to have is way in that matter. ” I see now, he was protecting the three of you, the president was simply a flight of fancy he couldn't let pass up. ” The man said, accepting his impending death and talking calmly now. ” After all, you are all 'brothers' in a sense. Genesis will be back. Your friends, he knew you would come, he will find you again. He will not cease. ” The man said, his voice weakening now, his eyes glazed, he would soon loose consciousness. ” What he wants, is inside of you. I can't explain, if you want the truth you must seek it yourself, in the north the..re i.. is a v.. village. ” he struggled to finish as he slowly blacked out, fighting the sensation as long as he could before slipping into the unconscious realm, falling into darkness towards annihilation.
Cloud had calmed, listening intently as the man spoke, coming closer to Raiden's side as the man's voice had lessened. Leaning close as the man blacked out he placed his hand on his shoulder, a solemn thank you. As he started to turn away he noticed a small plastic card laying on the floor next to the man, a key-card like the one they had found before. Impulsively Cloud picked the card up, noticing the man's picture and his name Reeve Tuesti.
We're going to end the chapter here guys. I will be starting the next one in a day or two, I need to finish the profile update and we're going to move the location of our RP to the FF7 Fortress site board to help organize things since RPGs are launching here this month.
