PROGRESS LOG ~

++ DAY ~ 11.27.12 ++++++++++++++++++++++
›› Finished dialog design for the 'Character Information' tool, connected everything to the profile database.
›› Wrote and inserted the AJAX code to update the character information part of the profile, created PHP script to handle update.
›› Started conceptual design for the equipment dialog and database structure, lots of work to do here.

++ Notes: Still plenty of cleanup work to do on the code, also it's nearing time to add the user tier structure and create the sign-up page.

›› Cleaned up image resizing code, works better now though there is still a window between 280px and 340px that it will be wonky, need to refine code.
›› Dialog design for 'Character Information' editing started, mostly done. Need to define AJAX properties and connect the tools to the profile database.
›› Added a small Javascript update to the Biography editing tool, it will now display how many characters you have left before you reach the 2000 character limit.

›› Initial scripting to resize profile images written, needs work.

So everyone who is currently a member here probably knows about the Cimera Engine, one of the main things I'm working on here on Dystopia Productions. Since I have started back on the site I have been putting a good deal of time into getting this engine off the ground and I'm happy to announce today that I have moved a step forward in that, I've got the full AJAX/PHP MySQL integration done.

You might be asking what exactly that is, and what does it mean. Basically it's the backend scripting that controls the ability to update your profile (in the RPG of course, your character profile) in real time, without page refreshes, etc. In a few days when I finish the dialogs and all the tools I will have a demo version of the Jupiter Jazz profile part of the Chimera Engine up for everyone to play around with.

EDIT: I have started an official prgress log for the Chimera Engine, to track work I've done as well as allow myself to leave notes on things I need to work on. Also, at this point I'm going to begin the search for a few Beta Testers to help me debug the engine as it is built. I'd like to have 3-5 people I will post more on this later.
