Important Characters
Tal ~ the Mystic
The power of the spoken word is one not to be taken lightly, a truth that Tal the keeper of the myth knows all too well. Among the oldest of the village elders Tal has taken a prominent place among the people of the valley, retelling the stories passed down through the generations since the great calamity. She is said to have great insight about the true meanings of the ancient tales and the secrets which they keep, a true student of the prophecies.

Guto ~ Village Chief
Guto is a powerful bear of a man, full of vigor in his physical prime from years of hard work. Though physically intimidating he’s known to have a kind heart and be understanding and well spoken, traits that have lead him to a position of leadership among the people of the valley. The citizens look to him to be a steadying force in such a dangerous world, tasking him with protecting the vale from the hazards that lurk outside it’s protection.

Napishtim ~ Outsider
The outsider, a rogue who spends much of his time alone in his cabin at the far reaches of the valley’s protection, on the distant side of lake Scholoma. His visits to the village are few and far between, his keenness for long chats with Tal about Gaia and her mysteries the only draw to cross the waters. The children tell rumors of his travels outside of the valley, exploring the wastelands in search of lost knowledge and magic.
The Prologue

The breeze momentarily masked the sound of men working hard in the fields, their grunts and chatter carried away. For all the destruction that had come of the world in this lone valley things seemed at peace—the brevity of humanity a distant thought. The minute gale casually found its way, following the twisting meander of the stream that carved the valley itself over eons. It trekked through the village and the fields eventually capering it’s way in a rhythmic ripple across the once placid lake that was nestled deep in the valley.

Finn closed his eyes as the zephyr circled and cooled him with it’s embrace, tossing his amber hair lightly before it moved on. The faint glint of sunlight welcomed him as his eyes opened and sweeped the stunning vista of the lush valley. The young man wondered, though briefly, how the world outside of their womb like vale could be so harsh and vicious. He longed to venture out, confirming for himself the stories the men told around the fires were true. He closed his eyes once more, summoning from his imagination as vision of the outside world drawn by the legends that his village held dear. Barren deserts void of life, dry and endless, their only residents the bones of colossal beasts which whistled in the whipping winds that cut through the wastes.

The hum of the wind seemed to return though he had felt no breeze. The noise grew in volume and longing for the coolness that it would bring Finn opened his eyes once more. He searched stopping in awe as he watched, piercing the white clouds that hung overhead, a mammoth iron bird growing larger with each passing second, the hum of it’s propellers increasing…
