Absolutely. I mean, they had a record of solid cinematography going into season 2 honestly, but you're right, season 4 and 5 really showed how good camera work and blocking could be for a TV show. Then again, Mad Men is also very good in that matter. Might even be better than BB in that regard. Also, Sherlock.

Sherlock never struck me as well shot as Breaking Bad, not as emotive.

You're right on the matter of the shots evoking emotion, but technically, Sherlock is one of the best shot shows on TV, which is enhanced by the editing. Editing is huge.

It's edited pretty well, I'll give you that. In terms of production values it's very very high, but the emotive, evocative use of shadow and camera angles/staging/focus simply isn't really of an artistic level like Breaking Bad went to in the final two seasons. I never really was awed by the was Sherlock is shot, it seems very much like a lot of big budget hollywood thrillers, stylistically. I assume that is on purpose of course, since the nature of the show is to be mysterious/thrilleresque but modern. As an avid reader of Arthur Conan Doyle though I didn't really connect to the modern retellings of some of his stories, and even though the classic Hollywood verisons are also updated to the time of their filming (1930s-50s) I feel the cinematography employed in those films captured the mood of the films much better.
