Personality:
Azrael is a man of deep-seated motivations and convictions. He is extremely passionate, though this does not always show through his cool demeanor. He is just as likely to cut down an adversary with his words as he is a blade. Despite his position as the head of an intergalactic corporation, Azrael is known as an individual who does not ask others to do things that he can not or has not. This philosophy has endeared him to his employees, and inspired them and their supervisors to higher levels of quality, lest their CEO walk in and show them up. In both the ways of the Force and business Azrael is cold and methodical in his approach and often times downright ruthless in his execution.
 
The death of his wife and unborn son, weigh heavily on Azrael’s mind to this very day. For some time after their passing, Azrael completely isolated himself from everyone else. While he has moved back from that proverbial ledge, he still has a tendency to keep others at a distance so that he does not have to experience the same pain he once felt.
 
Azrael grew up in a modest home and as such prefers simple things in his life. Despite this preference, he understands that for business he must operate within different social circles. His economic success allows him to have just about everything he wants.This includes but is not limited to alcohol, beautiful women, lavish living accommodations, and some of the finest ships that the galaxy has to offer. His advisors often chastise him for his frequent drinking and womanizing, but they do not realize that the more his face is seen in the media associated with such things the less people look at what is really happening in his life. Providing the public with a view of the ‘private’ life they want to see keeps them from looking at the private life he actually chooses to lead.
 
Background:
Azrael is the only son of Thrace and Lillith Wryn. He has very few memories of his parents as they were often away when he was young until they were killed when he was six years old. Before they were killed, Azrael’s parents gave him a pendant made from the tooth a Ysalmir that hung on a necklace made of leather from the lizard’s hide. The pendant served to suppress Azrael’s latent Force abilities as a child.   Azrael was raised by his grandfather Samael who was a gifted weaponsmith. As he grew older Azrael began working in his grandfather’s weapons shop becoming quite gifted himself. The Wryn Weapon Company was widely known for high quality, hand crafted weaponry and armor. They specialized in very intricately detailed armor.
 
On Azrael’s nineteenth birthday, Samael told Azrael his family’s history. Their family had specialized in weapons and armor for centuries because they descended from the Jensaarai, a group of force users who were persecuted at different periods by both the Jedi and the Sith. Samael explained that the Sith persecuted everyone so there was no special grievance that led to the conflict. The Jedi on the other hand thought that anyone who did not fall within their view of what a Force user should be was inherently evil. Samael passed away a couple of weeks later leaving Azrael the master weaponsmith. His tale of the family history held little more than sentimental value for several years.
 
Azrael married a young woman by the name of Elizabeth Tannehill, a doctor in the town where they lived, when he turned twenty. The two lived happily in their home on Cirrus for the next couple of years. Shortly after his twenty-third birthday Elizabeth came to Azrael with exciting news, she was pregnant with their first child. The happy news turned into horrible news two months later when an accident during surgery caused Elizabeth to contract the same disease that her terminally ill patient had. Her health started to fade quickly and she was put into the hospital after another three months. Azrael gave Elizabeth the pendant his parents had given him to ‘protect’ her while she was in the hospital and he was at work.
 
One day while working in his shop, Azrael was approached by a man named Ezekiel who claimed to be a Sith Lord. Ezekiel was also a very wealthy man who offered to financially back Azrael’s business so that he could focus on other things. Without the pendant, Azrael’s potential was easily discerned by the Sith who offered to help Azrael gain the knowledge to save his dying wife. Azrael agreed and his skills flourished under Zeke’s tutelage. A couple of months later Elizabeth went into labor, but the baby was stillborn. Complications of the labor also sent her into coma.
 
On Azrael’s twenty-fourth birthday his wife finally succumbed to her illness and he was helpless to save her. Rage welled inside of him and he began to plot his revenge against everyone he deemed responsible, including Zeke. Upon killing Zeke, Azrael took on full management responsibilities for the business and finances as well as leading the fledgling Sith order the man had headed.   In the years since both the company and the order have flourished though the latter remains in the shadows mentioned only in speculation and rumor.
