He is more than willing to lie, but he prefers to twist words and with great subterfuge gain what he wants without falsehood. And if he does pledge his word, he will almost never break that promise. Thus, to accuse him of going back on his word or questioning the value of it, is something that he considers an insult beyond almost any other, and he will respond with his blade. And while not truly arrogant he is very confident in himself and his abilities, and will not hesitate to put them to the test if required.     His noble upbringing also causes him to disdain those that are not from the same social order, even if they are his superior in rank in other circles. He will take orders from them, but do so begrudgingly. He will almost never condone breaking the rules of combat or warfare, unless there is no other option. Nor does he like theft but he will accept it if done for the right reasons. Murder, by contrast, he takes no issue with unless the murder was done for sole enjoyment of it or sport.     He prefers an life with elegance, and has always been an extravagant person. His noble roots and substantial wealth have made him able to continue that lifestyle, though on occasion he will make do with modesty if it is required. His life has always been a somewhat private one, especially when it concerns his family. Still as the fame and prestige of the Zekwryn Corporation grew he has learned that as a leading member of that organization a certain amount of openness to the public is expected of him. He has reluctantly accepted that and now is skilled at saying the right things to the right people that keeps him out of the real limelight but not appearing secluded or withdrawn from the public view.     Background: Daniel was born on Obulette in the Tapani Sector, the eldest son of Daniel Aldan, Lord of House Aldan. House Aldan's liege lord is House Mettici, having been so since the days of the First Galactic Empire. It is a military house that has a strong presence in the Mettici House Guard. During the Purge of House Pelegia in the reign of the first Galactic Empire, they had been founded by Cruor Aldan, a commander of the Mettici House Guard. And it has always been loyal to Mettici. This loyalty was also the downfall of the House.     Late at night when Erdic was only sixteen, assassins of House Thyr, an ally of Pelegia, stole into the House Aldan compound, and murdered his father and many other important members of the House. He was spared only because he was not present on that day, having been off world for House affairs. When he returned, he found his House in ruins. What was more, House Mettici could not retaliate on their behalf because it would trigger Pelegia's involvement and they were not willing to risk open warfarewith Pelegia and it's powerful allies.    Thus it fell to Erdic to respond. And he did so with brutal efficiency. For a decade, what remained of his House was rebuilt. And then he struck. He attacked House Thyr in broad daylight. He crushed them in the first battle but still there was fighting to be done. Two years later, House Thyr was destroyed and their lands were laid to waste. His actions brought him to the attention of a man once affiliated with the Mecrosa Order, a branch of Dark Side users that had ties to the ancient Sith.    He learned much of the Dark Side from his teacher, whom he know only as The Master. When he had grown very skilled with the lightsaber, and grew knowledgeable of the Dark Side, he felt he had surpassed his teacher and slew him in a duel for supremacy. A more elegant balanced weapon, the lightfoil is a perfect weapon for the use of Form II, of which Erdic is a master. He gained extensive knowledge of many lightsaber forms under the Master, several of which he mastered but none to the extent he knows Makashi. His lightfoil is known as Clarent, and because of his Tapani origins he is able to carry the weapon on his person without scrutiny, although his version of the weapon was done by ancient schematics and at the hands of a Force User and so is much better in quality than those crude version used by most Tapani nobles in their duels.
