EXPLOSIVE ITEMS
Explosive items tend to be pretty rare, their ability to cause great amounts of damage the reason behind that. In most cases the more common types of explosives will be pretty minor in terms of damage, with military grade and other power explosives having been heavily controlled substances. Explosive items are subject to a special damage system based on proximity to the blast radius, for more on this please continue to the next paragraph, and as with all item classes the stars listed with each item represents each individual items respective rarity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAMAGE RADIUS EXPLAINED
Because of the nature of an explosion the damage changes based on many factors, which are varied enough that in many cases they will come down to a DM’s decision on a case by case basis. One constant however is the closer you are to the explosion, the more damage you are going to receive. This will be handled based on a distance formula with max damage at the center of the blast and a steady decease as you move farther away. The distances between damage drop offs will be based on the power of the original blast, and listed individually with each explosive below. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Information |
C4
***** |
C4 is a plastic explosive that is marginally more powerful then TNT. The advantage of using C4 is that it can be molded into shape and that it is very stable (being set off by heat or shock wave detonation). (Damage: 1d20 per .25 lbs) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 25% per 10 feet) |
Fireworks
** |
Usually containing a very small amount of explosive powder, fireworks are legal and common, especially around certain holidays. Though they don’t pose a high damage risk, they can when used right cause good amounts of damage. (Damage: 1d4 each) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 50% per 5 feet) |
Gasoline
* |
Easily the most common explosive, Gasoline can be found in most all abandoned cars, gas stations, and in many homes. Though no where near as powerful as high grade explosives, when enough is used you can create a pretty powerful explosion. (Damage: 1d10 per gallon) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 25% per 10 feet) |
Grenade
**** |
A small explosive device used by the military. Damage from a grenade is not caused by the explosion itself but by the shrapnel created when the metal casing around the grenade is exploded, as the explosive itself is only marginally powerful. (Damage: 1d12) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 50% per 10 feet) |
Land Mine
**** |
Very similar to a grenade, except with notably that the explosive is usually more powerful and larger, and that they are buried under ground and triggered when stepped on causing the explosion under the unlucky victim. (Damage: 1d20) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 75% per 10 feet) |
Lighter Fluid
** |
A very common substance, usually butane, which is used as fuel in lighters and used as a fire starter for grills, etc. Generally butane is pretty non-explosive, though it is highly flammable and is great for starting fires. (Damage: 1d6 per gallon) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 50% per 10 feet) |
Molotov
** |
A very basic weapon that consists of a flammable liquid in a glass bottle with a wick of some kind. Molotovs don’t cause an explosion but when thrown they burst into flames which can cause a great amount of damage in it’s own right. (Damage: 1d10) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 75% per 5 feet) |
Rocket Launcher
***** |
One of the most deadly explosive weapons there is, due to it’s ability to be used somewhat accurately from a good distance away. Used by the military they are pretty rare, not something every soldier has issued to them. (Damage: 1d20) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 25% per 10 feet) |
TNT
**** |
TNT or trinitrotoluene is the standard when it comes to explosives, though TNT is a controlled substance it is used often by miners, demolition crews, the military, etc and can be obtained if you know where to look. (Damage: 1d12 per stick) ~ (Damage Drop Off: 25% per 10 feet) |
