CEDAR PARK SHOPPING MALL
Like all major and even some minor American cities, the late 1970s began the building boom for shopping malls, and Ulysses was no exception. Cedar Park Shopping Mall was built in 1981 and sports a two story open design with a food court in the middle and several large outlet stores joined in. The mall itself sports fairly modern design, vaulted glass ceilings, beautifully tiled floors, several indoor fountains, and everything else you would expect to adorn a mall of this type. The layout follows an X pattern, meeting in the center food court and each X home to one outlet store at the end.  THE MALL INTERIOR
Cedar Park Mall supports just over sixty stores, not including the four large outlet stores that are located at the end of each ‘axis’. These stores are all connected by wide tiled walkways, those on the upstairs levels looking down at through open medians. The walkways are adorned with fountains, plant installations, as well as restrooms and other basic needs. Cedar Park also sports rather large behind the scenes utility instillations.

 CEDAR PARK FOOD COURT
What is a mall without it’s food court? Cedar Park is home to a massive central food court which has seating for up to two hundred individuals at any one time. Located around the food court are eight small restaurants, the majority of them popular chains, though two are local. Paul’s, a local chain is considered the most popular, their Italian cuisine heavily favored by the mall shoppers. Each instillation sports full offices and kitchens behind the scenes.

 THE TOY BOX
The largest regional supplier of children’s toys and games, The Toy Box is heavily favored by the youth visitors to Cedar Park Mall, and for good reason. The store front always boasts the newest must have toys and inside the isles are filled with every toy a child could dream of, from action figures and dolls, to building sets and toy cars. All children agree, It would be a crime to visit Cedar Park Mall and not visit The Toy Box.

The largest of the four outlet stores that make their homes inside the walls of Cedar Park Mall, Regal deals in just about everything a person could want or need. While much of the isles are filled with clothing, Regal is home to a large jewelry installation, a popular show department, the largest cosmetics department in town, and even housing decorations for the budding designer. For everything in modern fashion, choose Regal.

 MOVIE THEATER
Although the movies have been a part of American life for the better part of a century, It has only been in recent history that movie theaters began to invade the commercial centers that are shopping malls. Recently opened and taking up half a wing of Cedar Park Mall, the King’s Theater franchise is now regarded as one of the best in the state, with four screens and brand new stadium style seating there is no better place to watch your favorite flick.

 MALL SECURITY OFFICE
In a shopping mall the size of Cedar Park, a dedicated mall police staff is needed to make keep the peace at times, and make sure there is no theft. Cedar Park Shopping Mall is home to the most up to date and modern design in mall security, employing 22 mall officers on staff at all open hours who make use of a modern computer controlled task center where they can monitor all stores from one room through the use of video surveillance. |
