EASTLAKE
Hugging the northern bank of the Alexander River, the community of Eastlake was originally one of the first expansions of territory for Ulysses. Originally planned as a housing community for the families starting after the end of World War II, Eastlake expanded quickly, but soon fell out of favor due to it’s proximity to the new downtown center located across the river. In the years since the building boom of the late 50s and 60s Eastlake has fallen on hard times, overshadowed by the exponential growth of Downtown Ulysses due south, and of Loyal Heights and other suburbs near the city center to the north. The biggest and most well known discount store in the United States, almost every town has their very own Holmes, some even supercenters. The store itself is filled with just about every item anyone could ever want to buy, from clothing, shoes, toys, houseware, electronics, etc to groceries as well as being home to a fully stocked pharmacy, eye care center, and even a bank. Holmes is home to everything the modern American family requires.

Located in the Eastlake Strip Mall, Dragon Golden is the most popular restaurant in the area. With seating for 100, and a buffet that can feed them, Dragon Golden is a must visit. Every family enjoys a good Chinese restaurant, and Dragon Golden is the best. Open seven days a week,three hundred and sixty five days a year, Dragon Golden is home to the largest Chinese buffet in Ulysses Oregon. Bring the entire family and eat all you can.

Though nowhere near the size of neighboring Holmes Supercenter, King’s Factory Outlet is a large store in it’s own right. With thirty thousand square feet of store space, King’s mainly deals in clothing and house hold goods, delivered directly from the factory, cutting out the middle man and while slashing the prices. Navigating it’s way through the center of the Eastlake District is U.S. Highway 11, running the length of the West Coast, intersecting state highway 115, which passes east to west through the same area. Because of the major highway intersection Eastlake has become home to several motels and other convenience style locations. Eastlake Motel, while not the most well known, is home to twenty rooms, and has all the luxuries of home.
