OLD ULYSSES
Located due east of the current city center, Old Ulysses as it is called now was once the original center of town and served as so until the building boom started in the 1950s. Old Ulysses is very characteristic of other similar districts in other growing or large metropolitan areas, much of the architecture from the 1920s and 30s, the buildings no longer being used as the originally were designed to, but most still in use. Old Ulysses is also home to Ulysses own community college which was founded in 1932 and has occupied the same spot since it was founded, though it has expanded some, the school purchasing nearly buildings and lots and converting them into school buildings or grounds. All in all Old Ulysses is becoming a favorite part of town for young people and is expected to become a popular community for living, as many of the old buildings are being converted into loft apartments and other types of dwellings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OAK STREET APARTMENTS
Most people who reside in Old Ulysses tend to call large apartment buildings or other remodeled structures home. Though there is no shortage in apartments in the district, the Oak Street building is noteworthy as once housing the mayor and other city officials when it was new. Housing sixteen apartments on three stories, as well as basement facilities that include a laundry they are now very desirable when available.

GIBBONS OPERA HOUSE
Originally constructed in 1928, and remodeled in 1964 Gibbons Opera House was one the most popular social establishment in Ulysses. Even now, with opera having fallen out of favor to the masses, the building continues to remain relevant and popular hosting concerts, staged plays, and other theatrical arts. Seating 824 it is on the small side compared to newer theaters, but it has charm that no modern building could posses.

OLD KRAMER BUILDING
Located in what was originally downtown Ulysses, the Old Kramer Building as it is called today was once the manufacturing hub and main warehouse of Kramer shoes, who relocated to Seattle in 1967. Now abandoned city council has many times tried to have the building demolished, without success. Much of the building is still filled with forgotten machinery and production equipment once used by the original inhabitants, or is simply vast empty space.
