B E S T I A R Y
The Bestiary:
The bestiary is one of the most important sections of FF7 Fortress and is where a lot of you will gain most of your Exp., outside of member battles and role-playing of course. The bestiary may look confusing at first but if you make sure to read all of the rules below it should be much easier to understand. Beast battles are preformed just like member battles (if you do them the normal way, not via words) and you are limited to battling a maximum of five beasts each day.
Setting up a Beast Battle:
This is a public site so many people will probably be doing beast battles each day and it is important to know the rules for the battles themselves. First please remember you cant control beasts for yourself, if your battling alone and cant find anyone to control the beasts for you skip all the way down to the bottom of this page to the solo battles section and continue on from there, however if you have someone to control beasts for you then you are going to need to know how to set up the battles themselves on the message boards. First of all you need to make sure you make the post on the right location board, most beasts are only available to battle in certain locations so double check this. When your ready to actually start the battle you need to name the thread like so " Location: [ Your name vs. Beasts names xNo.]" the first post in a beast battle should always contain the beasts stats, then be followed by a post by each person taking place in the battle that includes their full bio.
Events of the Battle:
Once the Battle is set up correctly one of you must be the beast controller, the job of the beast controller is to roll a dice to randomly select attacks for the beast. First you must roll to see who the beast is attacking, set it up equally so that everyone in the battle has the same chance of being attacked, once the beast has decided who to attack you must see what attack it does of course different beasts have different numbers of attacks but just split them all up evenly and then roll for that. Remember you do have to role-play your actions during the battle, and it is expected to be somewhat in depth, the beast controller doesn’t have to rp the beast he just has to simple state the attacks the beast uses and on who as well as how much damage they do to the person.
The Battle ends & things to remember:
Once the battle is over people will be responsible for updating their own bios including EXP, AP, GIL, Items Dropped, Their HP/MP levels and any other things that change during the battle like items used. Please remember your HP and MP do not reset at the end of the battle. You are allowed to battle the max of 5 beasts a day, this can be done all at once or in different sections that’s up to you, just no more then 5 beasts. And as a final note reusing posts in any battles is strictly against the rules and considered power-gaming so doing so will get you banned.
Solo Beast Battles:
If you are fighting alone or cant find someone to control beasts for you your not completely out of luck, you can use the beast conversion system to make it possible and fair for you to fight beasts alone. The system itself is pretty simple its word based like basic role-playing, the requirements for defeating a beast is 100 words per beast and 1 post per beast, now you can see that this could allow for really aggressive power-gaming and to prevent that, no player can battle any beast who’s combined STR, DEX, VIT, SPR, and MAG is higher then their own of the same 5 stats.
Item Droppage:
After you have finished your battle and request your update a manager will randomly roll to see if you gain any of the items that the beast(s) you fought dropped(that is if they have any items to drop in the first place) the updater will use a die (d10 -ten sided die) to randomly roll and see if each beasts drops an item. The items beasts drop are listed with their stats and to gain the random item you must roll a 1-3 on the d10. Please remember you cant roll your own die to see what items a beast drops for you because there is a chance you could change those numbers, a manager must do it for you. |
