STATUS EFFECTS EXPLAINED
Status effects are just as they sound, effects that cause a status change to a character in combat, and sometimes every last after combat. These effects range from good effects that warriors will seek, to ones that those same warriors will seek to prevent. The two types of status effects are combat effects, which only last the length of the combat, and sometimes shorter then that, and effects that last even after combat until they are cured. Below you will find a list of all the status effects, the effects they cause in and out of combat, and how to cure the.

DEATH
Duration: Until Revived.
Protected By: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Saftey Bit, Destruct + Added Effect Materia, Odin + Added Effect Materia, Death Force.
Cured By: Phoenix Down, Life, Life2, Angel Whisper, Phoenix Summon
Description: Death is a very dangerous effect that causes your character to be KO’d, meaning they cannot act in combat while this status is upon them. Death causes the Hit Points  of a character to drop to zero, but also removes all status effects besides frog and mini.

POISON
Duration: end of combat.
Protected By: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Poison Ring, Star Pendant, Fairy Ring.
Cured By: Esuna, Poisona, Remedy, Angel Whisper, White Wind, Antidote.
Description: The poison status effect is a nasty one, which lasts the entire length of combat if not cured. The effect of this status is that every time the character inflicted with poison does any action in combat they take 1/32 of their max hit points damage. This effect ends once combat is over.

SADNESS
Duration
: Until effect is cured.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Peace Ring.
Cured By
: Hyper, Esuna, Remedy.
Description: Sadness is an effect that has both it’s ups and it’s downs. The effect has a great effect on a characters defense, reducing all damage by 25%, but it has a negative effect on a character’s limit bar, only filling the bar at one half the usual rate.

SLEEP

Duration: 3 rounds of combat.
Protected By: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Headband, Seal + Added Effect Materia, Hades + Added Effect Materia.
Cured By: A physical attack, Esuna, Remedy, Angel Whisper, White Wind.
Description: The sleep effect causes a character to fall asleep while fighting. The effect doesn’t last very long and is easily cured by simply physically attacked the character afflicted with the status effect. Sleep doesn’t carry on after battle.

FURY
Duration
: Until effect is cured.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Peace Ring.
Cured By
: Tranquilizer, Esuna, Remedy.
Description: The fury effect causes the character who has had the effect cast on him to have a increase to the growth of their limit bar (x2). However the effects drawback is when using physical attacks you have only a 67% chance of landing the attack. (use chat command `roll 3 before every physical attack)

CONFUSION
Duration
: End of combat.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Peace Ring, Contain + Added Effect Materia, Mystify + Added Effect Materia, Hades + Added Effect Materia.
Cured By
: A Physical Attack, Esuna, Remedy, White Wind, Angel Whisper.
Description: Confusion is a negative status effect that causes the loss of control of a character in combat. When confused a character will attack randomly striking both allies and enemies with physical attacks. (use the command `roll # of characters and beasts in battle to see who a confused character attacks)

SILENCE
Duration
: End of combat.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Ribbon, Peace Ring, Seal + Added Effect Materia, Hades + Added Effect Materia.
Cured By
: Esuna, Remedy, White WInd, Angel Whisper, Echo Screen.
Description: The silence negative status effect when cast on a character restricts that characters ability to use magic in combat as well as use summon materia or any enemy skills until the end of combat or until cured.

HASTE
Duration
: End of combat.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist.
Cured By
: DeSpell.
Description: Haste is one the best positive status effects that can be cast on your character. The effect doubles the speed of your character allowing them the ability to double attack each round. However the effect does have one downside, all other timed positive status effects only last half as long as they normally would (ie barrier, m-barrier, shield).

SLOW
Duration
: End of combat.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Time + Added Effect Materia.
Cured By
: DeSpell, White Wind, Angel Whisper.
Description: Slow is the opposite of the haste status effect and thus instead of doubling the amount of times you can attack per round it makes it possible to only attack every other round while in combat, like with haste spells like barrier, m-barrier etc last two times as long while in slow mode.

STOP
Duration
: 3 rounds of combat.
Protected By
: Petrify, Peerless, Resist, Contain + Added Effect Materia, Time + Added Effect, Choco/Mog + Added Effect.
Cured By
: DeSpell, White Wind, Angel Whisper.
Description: While the stop negative status effect is cast on a character, that character is unable to use any actions in combat, and all bars stop counting (limits). However while stop is cast on a character spells like barrier, m-barrier, etc will not count down and will last until the effect is despelled.
