Strength was the only thing truly worshipped and war was fight just to see who was stronger. Izuki was a late bloomer physically and was bullied and look down upon by the other bigger children. It was not until later that Izuki grew and those that bullied him looked up to him. Not wanting to forget his past, Izuki picked up a shield and was determined to fight and protect all his allies he could. It seemed odd to others, but they could not say anything due to Izuki proficiency with it. When the heartless came, the tribes of Maho came together to fight them, but with no means to hurt them they were taken over. A dark portal sucked up Izuki and took him to Traverse Town, a strange land to him. The people of the town coming together trying to sustain peace was even stranger, but it struck his heart and thought he finally found a place he could call home.
