Races & Racial Abilities

Current Races
- Aliens
- Androids
- Changelings
- Humans
- Namekians
- Saiyans
 
Sub-species
Currently we are considering that Aliens and Androids have sub-species due to the wide variety of characters that these two groups of races contain. The Alien Race is a mix of all of the other races in the known universe that we did not make a seperate race for. Therefore Aliens would benefit greatly from having sub-species. As for Androids, we all witnessed several different models of Androids and therefore to allow players to have their choice on the type of Android that they are it would benefit to have sub-species.

Classes
We are also considering classes. These classes would be selected by the player and would have requirements that the player must adhere to everytime they gain stat points and technique points to distribute. So long as they adhere to these requirements they would be eligible for certain bonuses.

Custom Alien Species
Finally, we are considering allowing players to create their own Alien sub-species. In fact, I suggest we start off with no sub-species for Aliens and allow them all to be created by members instead. When creating a sub-species for the Alien race, the player would get to determine their racial abilities only. The Alien Race will share the same transformation set for all sub-species (currently).

Good start, Sub-species would be some Hybrid races and different andorid types? I have the old racial info from RF (dunno if I backed up those pages on site, if not I will do so shortly so we can have some working ideas to look at)

A few examples of sub-species

Aliens/Mutants
- Warriors: Aliens that are proficient in hand-to-hand combat.
- Psychic: Aliens that are proficient in telekenetic abilities (Guldo)
- Speed: Aliens that are extremely fast.

Androids
- Basic Model: Pretty much like humans except with more defense & strength.
- Advanced Model: No energy required (obviously this technology doesn't exist yet).
- Bio-Android: Cell, duh. (Again technology doesn't exist yet).

Humans
- Fighters
- Monks
- Ki Fighters

Namekians
- Warriors
- Elders
- Healers

Saiyans
- Low-Class
- Elite

Obviously those are just examples, but it's merely to show where we could go with the “sub-species” and what I meant by “sub-species” though hybrids could totally exist as well. However, there wouldn't be any Human/Saiyan hybrids at the beginning as there are no Saiyans on Earth and the only Saiyan to be sent to Earth (Goku) anytime soon hasn't been born yet. Now obviously once we start players who use Saiyans may decide to visit Earth and start re-populating with them, but this is highly uncharacteristic right now.

Some of those are more classes than anything, I don't think we need to detail all that stuff. Also, while no Saiyan/Human hybrids would be available it's still a good idea to go ahead and make the info, as someone could use a wish from the dragonballs and leave us without the supporting info.

They were just ideas. However, I think sub-species will be needed for Aliens though considering how many different races that we are merging into that category. Perhaps we can allow players to create custom sub-species if they play as an Alien. Obviously we would setup rules like “create only two racial abilities, set starting stats (stats inversely effect other stats), etc.” We should probably keep these “sub-species” as well for Androids. Humans, Namekians and Saiyans can probably go without I guess, as you're right those would just be classes.

Yeah, a custom race build-up will be something we should have. I'm keen on having players assign their stats all on their own and not have any starting stats based on anything. We could include classes in some other area of the site, mostly likely something to do with techniques. You assign your stats in a way that it aligns with a class preset, which then gifts you some sort of class specific bonus(s) so long as you continue to abide to said classes guidelines. example: A Monk class could require a certain % stat distribution (towards defensive, or whatever) and require players to persue a set techinque style, branching from these specifics could cause them to loose a bonus while keeping to them would gift said bonus (which could be teired in itself to gift a bigger bonus to those who follow/master the style more than others)

None of that has to do with race though, lol.

I'm not a fan of classes really. I would rather just give them complete control to play their character how they want and the ability to switch up how they distribute stats at any point. For the sub-species we can take away the starting stat modifications and have it merely effect their starting abilities.

I'm not saying we should have classes that people pick and get stat allocations based on that, more like 'perks' in that if a player allocates their own stats in a way that lines up with some 'class' they would get some perk for it.

Example
A player assigned a certain % of stat points into their Physical Strength stat, and focuses their tech trees on defense, and would align with a monk style class and get perks related to that, if they later choose to focus elsewhere they could loose that original perk and gain another.

Due to changes in timeline, Saiyan/Human hybrids will now be allowed. I am going to simplify races by eliminating classes/sub-species for all races. We will allow custom alien races which will be vetted by admins/mods.

Other than some balance changes, the races have been completed.
 
However, contemplating making the Races closer to 100%, meaning instead of limiting transformation and abilities, all of these will be available based off of canon, therefore meaning the races will not be balanced. However, the Power Level requirements will still be balanced.
