The power of magic continued to flow through Vivi, he could feel it coursing through him and he knew a powerful spell would be waiting once it finished.  Then, as if they had been fighting together for ages, Frantz came up with the perfect combo move, an attack that made the Zuu susceptible to magic.  Yet, before the party could act, the Zuu began to counter.  All around them, the air began to become hotter, the ground burned hissed and smoked as its temperature rose and within moments the party was enclosed in a ring of fire that slowly made its way towards them.  Vivi was not yet able to move, as his energy was still focusing and the flames came closer, licking at his coat.  Then, just at the last minute, the aura of power ceased and Vivi knew, that he had completed his focus.  In seconds, Vivi jumped through the flames, his coat searing as the flames caught him.  As he landed outside the fire, Vivi turned his staff towards the giant bird and began to cast his spell.

The air now began to grow colder, the wind felt like ice piercing through the skin.  Shards of ice began to form and flurries of snow appeared as if out of nowhere.  Channeling all of the built of magic strength that he had, Vivi cast his spell towards the Zuu.

The group fought like a team of seasoned veterans that had fought many battles together before.  Their ability to coordinate attacks and work in tandem without any prior planning or experience together caught Vivi by surprise.  After their onslaught of initial attacks, the group found themselves back together on the ground and the Zuu demonstrably affected.  However, they were not altogether very long as Erlein launched himself towards the Zuu, attacking with a surprising amount of force.

Vivi's spell seemed to have taken effect, the poison began to course through the Zuu's vein and Vivi could only hope that this would benefit them in this war of attrition.  Looking around, Vivi wandered what he could do next, he had attacked the bird with most of his elemental attacks.  Suddenly, Vivi had an idea and he pushed his staff towards the Zuu and time began to become distorted all around the staff.  The air stood still, the wind stopped and the ripples of time echoed throughout the valley.  Then, as quickly as he mustered the spell, Vivi pointed his staff towards the mighty Zuu and launched the Stop spell, intending to prevent the Zuu from moving as the poison ate away at him.

The mighty Zuu was visibly weakened.  It had been battered and bruised and the party discovered its weakness to the ice element, pounding it with spell after spell.  Vivi agreed with Erlein's assessment, the bird was definitely almost finished.  Unfortunately, Vivi was exhausted, he had cast many spells in this battle and while it was to great effect. it drained him of his mana.  Knowing this, Vivi did what any mage would do…

Without almost any warning, Vivi planted his right foot into the ground and pushed off, rushing towards the mighty bird with his staff held high out in front of him.  As he neared the bird, Vivi leaped into the air, as high as an almost 4-foot person could do, and brought the tip of his staff down upon the head of the mighty bird.
