Downtown Ulysses
Downtown Ulysses Oregon is located on the southern bank of the Alexander River, nestled in tightly between Old Ulysses to the east and the industrial West Ulysses to, the west. Downtown Ulysses as it is now, was early on the residential district of the city, prior to the large building boom of the 1950s onward, which quickly spread into this region of the town, though some construction had started earlier, most prominently the Oregonian hotel which was completed in 1937 just on the eastern edge of downtown. Over the past 35 years Downtown Ulysses has grown at an unusually high rate, with many buildings going up in the same years to form the commercial and residential center that it is now. Packed with stores, nightlife, as well as city and state government offices it has become a growing center of activity in the American North West and appears that it will be for some time to come.
