Old Ulysses
Located due east of the current city center, Old Ulysses as it is called now was once the original center of town and served as so until the building boom started in the 1950s. Old Ulysses is very characteristic of other similar districts in other growing or large metropolitan areas, much of the architecture from the 1920s and 30s, the buildings no longer being used as the originally were designed to, but most still in use. Old Ulysses is also home to Ulysses own community college which was founded in 1932 and has occupied the same spot since it was founded, though it has expanded some, the school purchasing nearly buildings and lots and converting them into school buildings or grounds. All in all Old Ulysses is becoming a favorite part of town for young people and is expected to become a popular community for living, as many of the old buildings are being converted into loft apartments and other types of dwellings.
