  Survival of the Fittest

The shed door opened with a creak, which sent chills down Robert's back as he quickly looked around the area, the light now very nearly gone making visability low. Robert's heart pounded, he could feel the sweet on his brow but for the moment they seemed to be alright. Looking inside Robert took note of the contents of the shed, which appeared to be eight feet by eight feet in floor space, big enough to house a small work bench on the right littered with tools and various scraps. Filling the left side of the shed was a large ride on lawnmower and other yard tools organized behind it. Robert thought that close inspection of this shed would likely deal out very useful supplies, but they needed to get a move on.

Shed description, just figured I'd do it from Robert's POV seemed most simple for this situation.

Robert had taken in a quick look around the shed, though it was dark he was still able to make out several useful supplies. Moving inside he motioned for Abe to take a look the the work bench, knowing that tools made for good weapons and that they could always use tools when it came to securing their safe house.
” I'm going to check over hear, just make sure to be as quiet as possible. ” Robert wispered to Abe as he moved towards the lawn mower, ducking his head around the back where he found exactly what he had hoped, a three gallon jug of gasoline, which upon lifting it Robert guessed was probably two thirds full, enough to run a generator or get a car going if they needed. Robert moved the jug outside, setting it on the grass by the shed before heading back inside, making his way towards the yard tools in the back. Picking through them he found a couple shovels and rakes, he had hoped to find a pitch fork but wasn't that lucky.

Abe spent no time daddling and was quick to check out the shed. With the lock gone, he felt everything in there was his, but he would share it with the rest of the party. He needed their protection anyways. Ah, it was just like good 'ol times. The workbench was what caught his attention and, after a quick nod to Robert to keep noise to a minimum, Abe got to work. All he had for tools was a screwdriver and there was only so much someone, even someone as skilled as Abe, could do with a screwdriver. He only hoped that in this low light he would be able to find something good.

As he picked through the haphazard stack of yard tools Robert glanced to Abe, curious to what he might have found. Watching for a moment he saw the young man uncover several screw drivers and a set of wrenches which Robert thought could be useful. Watching for a minute more he saw Abe uncover more tools, including a saw and a couple hammers, all of which might be worth taking.
” Grab that little tool box and load it up with that stuff, it might come in handy, even if it will be a pain to carry back to the safehouse. ” Robert instruted young Abe, talking quietly and hoping not to cause detection by those things. Moving his gaze back to his own findings Robert pulled one of the shovels free, deciding to take it with them, as it could be used to keep one of those walkers at a distance.

Abe did as instructed without a second thought. The boy put his trust in Robert long ago and knew instinctly to follow what he said. With the toolbox filled with everything he found, Abe headed out of the shed and looked to both sides to make see if a walker had stumbled upon them while they were searching, “Where to next?” Abe looked back into the shed to speak silently. Abe understood the question seemed pointless as he would see where Robert was heading, but the boy still liked to know what was happening.
