Chronicle Guidelines
The Chronicle represents the main storyline of Chrono Trigger: Eternal Gaze and thus is the most important RP on the site. The narrative will flow in and out of combat and freeform segments, so there are some things you will need to remember. The first chapter of this RP will take place directly following the end of the first Event.

Combat Guidelines
››  Keep Track of HP/MP ~ HP/MP will not be healed automatically after a combat situation in The Chroncile, as other combat situations could follow in the same chapter. HP/MP will be restored at the end of each chapter.

General Role-Playing Guidelines

›› The Post Order ~ Like the event you cannot post again until two other players have posted. In some combat situations the posting order may change and will be detailed if that is the case, keep an eye out for that!
››  Concerning Continuity ~ The Chronicle RP is going to jump times and places often, though it will not disrupt your other RPs. When you change time periods just be mindful not to create new RPs in the other times, though you can continue/finish ones you have already started as you can explain them as having taken place during your stay in that time period.
›› Words & Gains ~ Keep track of your words as you normally would. The Chronicle awards normal gains on words for XP and TP though you will also have added XP from fights and puzzle encounters as well as the ability to find treasure, equipment, and items to add to your gains as well!

Chapter i: The Call of Destiny

The tug of the tear in the fabric of time pulled on Jonas as he stood, gold pendant in hand, in the center of the crowd in Leene Square. Around him the people were in a frenzy, fingers pointing, children yelling, the peaceful anniversary fair had been once again, like ten years before, hijacked by the call to adventure. Jonas could feel his heart pounding in his chest, his emotions surging, he was afraid. Looking back to the others he had asked who would come with him, who else would answer the call. He wondered who would follow, he knew Soren would, he could see the sparkle in his eye. The others he could not yet read, but they had not been put together by chance.
” I'll see you all on the other side. ” Jonas finally said before stepping forward, his boots splashing wildly in the rippling water of the central fountain. As he grew closer the pull grew and he found it easy, with one jump, to thrust himself into the gaping blue tear, lightning surging around him as he was pulled in. The next moments were a blur, there was sensation of no time or weight, that he had entered a place where these things did not exist, the laws of physics were simply not there. His mind could not wrap around the idea and though he could have been there for years or decades, or even just seconds he soon found himself nearing the other side.
Light pierced the void and moments later Jonas felt the sensation of falling. He hit the ground with a thud, his body rolling in the grass and dirt. He opened his eyes, the mid-day sun was glaring down at him from overhead. Around him trees and tall grass swayed in the breeze, the twisting path he found himself on leading to a familiar village in the distance.
” That's Truce. ” He said as he picked himself up, wondering exactly 'when' he was. Jonas waited, looking back at the still open portal, wondering who would follow.

  The Call of Destiny
Everything was happening so fast that anxiety began to build up within her. She found herself gravitating closer and closer to Demetri, the only familiar face in a crowd of strangers. Although everybody seemed to be nice and friendly Lena had seen up close and personal how quickly such benevolent people can turn into monsters of hate. The bright blue portal shone like a beacon of hope. What was keeping her from going? There was nothing at all that she had left in this world. Perhaps another time zone would offer her freedom; perhaps it was her escape from a life of wandering and cluelessness.
Jonas seemed so excited by it all. She envied the courage, or perhaps naivety, that bestowed him. He was able to make impulsive decisions without any regard for consequence. Lena did not wish to think about it anymore. She turned to Demetri, nodding, and then stepped up to the portal just moments after Jonas had vanished. The pull of it's energy became evident as it tugged at the loose cape around her shoulders. It failed to drag the hood from her head, which remained shielding her face. She closed her eyes, her fist clenched close to her chest, and then took the steps forward until it was too late… Nothing could send her back now.
What happened next went by in the flash of an explosion, the blink of an eye. Blurred images, shapes and patterns whizzes past her so quickly that her mind did not have the opportunity to make sense of them. Her head began to spin, as if dazed or confused. After just a short while, or perhaps an eternity, everything stopped. Sound came back to her ears. Touch came back to her bare skin. She could smell fresh air and see beautiful green trees all around her. Jonas announced that they were near Truce. She clambered up to her feet, having landed on her side, and looked at the village. “Truce… It looks so different.” It was clearly an older age that they were in, perhaps thousands of years in the past. “How will we know what time this is?”

  The Anniversary Fair

Soren merely stood there at the edge of the fountain, his attention completely fixated upon the tear in the fabric of time. Just staring at it made his throat go dry, and set his mind racing at the countless possibilities it offered. It was nothing less than the chance of a lifetime, promising an adventure unlike any other. Soren turned to observe the others, and noticed that Jonas appeared to be wrestling with the decision to move forward as well. It wasn’t easy to tell what the others were thinking, though he couldn’t believe they would turn away such an adventure.
By comparison the rest of the square was in an obvious state of panic, pointing fingers at the portal through time while children yelled at the top of their lungs. For those like him this was a chance for a grand adventure, but for the average person it must have been terrifying to behold. Soren chose to venture through the mysterious portal then, unable to shake the feeling that such was the call of destiny.
Soren took a deep breath and reached up to release the buckle that supported his weapon. As the leather straps were undone it threatened to fall, but he was quick to take hold of the sheath before it could do so. There was no way to know what might await them on the other side, and he didn’t fancy the concept of being caught unprepared. “I’ve searched for adventure all my life,” Soren spoke under his breath, watching as Jonas and Lena enter the portal. “to think that I would find it here of all places.”
As he approached the tear his every step kicked up water from the fountain, but he paid no mind to it, his attentions completely focused upon the portal. Soren came to a halt just in front of it, turning for one last glance to the crowd before venturing into the portal with a smile on his face. As he did a brilliant surge of lightning enveloped him, forcing him into the gateway.
Everything suddenly became hazy as he was thrust through time. Soren felt weightless in this strange place, and it felt as if a single moment was akin to an eternity. Or was it that the concept of time itself didn’t exist here? There was no way to tell. A faint light started to shimmer at the far end of the void, growing brighter as he was drawn ever closer to it. Suddenly he became aware that he was falling, and his senses returned to him all at once.
Soren emerged from the portal to a blur of green, miraculously stumbling out of it feet first. For a few short steps he managed to stay upright, but he was too dazed from the experience to stay that way. Soren collapsed into the tall grass with a wide smile, content to merely lay there until he heard a pair of voices not too far away. With no small amount of effort he managed to get to his feet and sluggishly approached the source of the noise. It turned out to be Jonas and Lena, who were already inspecting the nearby area. “Where… no, when are we?” Soren called out with a groan, though he still wore that wide smile. It would have been hard not to, given what had just taken place.

  The Call of Destiny
Peter jittered as he watched the others jump into the portal. Thoughts of how the last time he had travelled in time he had gained rabbit ears and lost most of his power. He didn't want to travel again, but he may have no choice. This may be why he was sent to this time. With a quick look to see there were no more animals, Peter jumped into the portal, “Keep the rabbits away!” Were the last words the people of this time heard of him.

The feeling of time travel was much mroe comfortable this time. It seemed this time travel was much more stable than hhis, probably the rabbit's doing. The landing was far worse though. Peter hit the ground hard and his mind railed to readjust to the time. After a few groans, Peter got to his feet, but his ears felt odd. they were lowered as close to his head as they could, as if they knew something Peter didn't. Assuming it was the time travel, Peter looked around and knew what it was. It was the worse thing that could happen.

Peter put up the hood of his tattered robes to cover his face and began to pace back and forth, mumbling under his breath,
“This is bad…what can I do….no, no no.” Peter moved towards the others and looked towards Truce Village, “I'm home.” Peter looked down with no confidence like he never had before, looking like a begger.

  The Call of Destiny

It seemed like just as Demitri had begun to strike up the courage to sneak after Robo and Lucca, they and the rest of the caravan had already left. The young inventor let out an audibly disappointed sigh, rubbing his temples. Well, at the very least he had gotten to catch a real life view of the legendary heroes he had heard so much about. Nobody else from his time – the he knew of at least – could make such a claim. Besides, there was plenty of time left in this festival, so he may even get a chance to do it later!

A heavy rumbling shook Demitri's stomach; he was hungry. Now that he was thinking about it, he couldn't remember the last time he had eaten. It must have been sometime yesterday, and here was was well past midday the next day without having anything more than a stick of meat at the begining of the festival. Anyone that knew Demitri would know that he had a much bigger appetite than that. His mind began to wander to what would be good to eat, and was even just about to suggest to the rest of the group that they grab some food before going any further, but that train of thought was quickly derailed.

A flash of light. A blue orb. A man coming through it.

The sight that unfolded before Demitri was actually something he was familiar with. It was the exact thing he had run into about a week ago, but this was nearly identical to the rift that he'd found himself thrust into. There was no mistaking it: that was a portal through time, and the man that had come through it was from a different time period.

A million questions flooded the young man's mind. What caused that rift? Why had that man come to this time? Was he from the future? Was he from the past? Was there trouble? Who was he here for? The questions in his head went on and on. Unlike Demitri, who had stood idle with wide eyes at the sight, Jonas took it upon himself to rush to the man's side and help. Come to think of it, that was probably what Demitri should have done.

Things happened so fast that Demitri could have sworn the entire area was in some sort of time gate. Before he knew it,. Jonas had already proclaimed he was going through the portal and asked who else was going with him. Demitri was about to speak up, perhaps even protesting whether that was a good idea or not, but before he could even get a sentence out Jonas, Soren, Lena, and even Peter Rabbit had taken the plunge through time.

And just like that, Demitri once again found himself in a situation where he was going to have to travel through time. Demitri had already seen the heroes of legend, and he doubted very much that he'd be able to get any closer to them, so what was the point in staying in this period? Furthermore, the only people he knew just thrust themselves to an unknown location of both place and time.

“Ah … what the hell.” Demitri didn't even bother fighting it, and he dove into the portal.

Actually traveling through the portal was akin to a dream. It was over in a matter of seconds, but at the same time it seemed like it lasted for hours – perhaps even longer. It was that strange sense of time distortion that someone felt in their dreams, where a very short amount of time may seem very long or vice versa. He felt no weight, no sensations of warmth or cold, nothing at all. It was actually a little unnerving until a flash half blinded him.

Demitri landed on the soft graft with a thud, face down and with a mouth full of dirt. That was the second time that had happened … he really needed to get this whole time travel thing down a little better. He groaned, spitting out his unwelcome taste of the ground, and brushed off his clothes as he rose to his feet.

“Well, that was fun. The ground tastes just as awful in this time as it did in the last.” Demitri looked at one of the watches that was on his person. It was actually tuned to pick up enviromental readings rather than time – it merely looked like a watch. Judging by the readings, this had to be in the past. “Well, I was already in the past, so I guess a little farther back can't hurt. What time are we in, Peter?

One by one, more people arrived from the portal. It seemed that the entire gang were after adventure and were willing to do anything to achieve it. Already, Lena was beginning to feel a part of a group and it was welcomed. It was difficult to tell which time zone they were in from where they were standing and clearly they would need to head into the nearby town in order to find out more information. She remembered the man who had came out in Leene Square holding the pendant and asking for Chrono. She hoped he was all right as almost everybody had just left him there in the square. She was sure somebody would help him there. His clothes suggested he was from the past and it was clear, at least, that they had travelled backwards in time. Interest piqued, Lena was intrigued as to what kind of lifestyle she could lead here, away from people who hate her.

  The Call of Destiny
“I’ll see you all on the other side,” the young man in the bandana said, glancing at Nadia and others nearby. Wait… I am ‘you all’? Does he think I’m— No, I can’t… I’m— She noticed the young man had something in his hand: a golden pendant, shining beneath the glow of the sun. And then he was gone, through the blue rift and into some time unknown. Her stomach sank. She looked down at the wounded man lying unconscious on the ground below. Had that pendant belonged to him? Did the young man take it? Stealing is stealing no matter what time the person’s from. As a knight— Nadia shrugged off thought, knowing she was only making excuses to follow the young man, and to become something she had always aspired to be…

And then others joined in. One by one, those nearby succumbed to the calling – a young woman, a man with a curved sword, the curious fellow with rabbit ears, a strangely dressed young man – each disappearing into the mysterious void. Yet Nadia stood her ground. She had a job, a life, a castle to protect from the ghosts of rats. I can’t just leap forward or back in time on a child’s whim…

From a running start, she hopped over the stone base of the fountain and jumped as high as she could into the portal’s pull. Behind her, everything vanished  the frantic crowd, the square, her boring life. Ahead, greater things awaited: adventure. I’m going to be in so much trouble… The current of time surrounded her, tossing her back and forth like a piece of debris in an endless sea.

It was over in a flash and a lifetime. The rift spit her back out, into a field of tall grass. She hit the ground with a thump and rolled a few feet before coming to a halt. Oww. Though completely uninjured, she lied there for a moment, regretting her whimsy. Finally, she stood up, shaking off dust and despair. Then glee took over. Realizing when she was, or rather when she wasn’t, she had to force back a smile.

A few yards away, she saw the others – the young man in the bandana and everyone else – already discussing their where- and whenabouts. She walked to where they were standing, a worn dirt path leading to a village in the distance – a village she knew in the future.

Chapter I ~ The Call of Destiny

Jonas looked down at Truce, the streets were familiar, but it was different, there were less houses and some areas of town simply did not exist. He looked at the ground below his feet, turning around to take in the full vista, he knew this is the spot he would have been standing in before, in Leene Square, it did not exist. As he frantically began to piece together when he was one by one others started to arrive, each tumbling from the portal as he had moments before. Jonas noted Soren, and the rabbit man, the young woman and man who seemed to know each other, and finally the knight that had stumbled back just as the portal had opened.
” It's Truce, I don't know when exactly but it has to be a few hundred years in the past just look at the town below, I've never seen it so calm. ” Jonas spoke to the others, the pendant chain dangling from his left hand. He took a deep breath, the air was clean, as clean as he could ever remember. ” I have no idea what happened, or why we're… ” He was speaking before he was cut of, a massive explosion rocked the town below, the sound startling Jonas and drawing his gaze.
From the hill that would before Lenne Square Jonas watched a fire erupt below, a billowing dark cloud of smoke pouring into the sky. Jonas stood in awe, his mind unclear, unsettled, unsure about what to do next.

  The Call of Destiny
Peter looked up at Demetri, not wanting to admit what he knew was true, “Looks about 600 A.D. Though I can't be too sure, not much different than when I left. If you see a me, but without rabbit ears, then you know it's earlier.” Peter laughed to himself silently at his own shame. He hoped by the time he got back here, he would have fixed the problem, but no such luck. He'd just have to keep his head down and hoped no one noticed him. People probably wouldn't believe he'd be wearing tattered robes anyways.

The explosion shot Peter's ears up, throwing back his hood. As the smoke came into view, Peter didn't even stop to think about what he was doing. His feet were taking off towards the village he had grown up in. His ears feel back down and recieved a silent reprimand to stay there. Rabbit ears or no rabbit ears, these were the people he was entrusted to protect and he would do so.

  The Anniversary Fair

Soren was almost giddy with excitement, to say the very least, as he took in the surrounding landscape. Everything he could ever have asked for and more was given to him. Truly there was little reason for him not to be so ecstatic at the moment. Slowly he moved about and took in the details of the area, noting that people continued to pour through the portal. Some of them he recognized from the festivals, others he knew nothing of. It didn’t matter though; they were all comrades now that they had ventured through time to offer their aid.
It would appear that they had maintained their location from when they entered the portal, though they were most assuredly in a completely different time from their own. Soren listened to the others as they discussed the situation, but didn’t add anything of his own to it. As he rejoined the group, his minor exploration of the immediate area complete, a sudden explosion shook the town below and caught everyone’s attention. A dark cloud of smoke had begun to creep into the sky as the village, his future home, started to burn.
Without a second thought he darted after Peter, though he came to a brief halt in order to call out to the others. “We were not sent here to enjoy ourselves! We have to help!” Soren exclaimed at the top of his lungs. After that he continued toward the village after the rabbit mage, determined to get there quickly as he could to offer a helping hand.

Chapter I ~ The Call of Destiny

He gazed down the rolling hills between where he stood and the village in chaos below. A soft breeze was stirring, the grass dancing wildly, it seemed almost serene for a moment. Jonas was snapped back, the rabbit eared man darting past followly shortly by Soren. Turning back to the others, Jonas shurgged his shoulders, knowing what Soren has said was true, they had been sent to this place for a reason, a reason that had just made itself known.
” I'm right behind you! ”Jonas shouted to Soren and Peter as he started to move, quickly reaching a steady run. ” 600 AD he said. ” Jonas mumbled to himself as he tried to keep up with Soren and Peter who were keeping pace ahead of him.
Truce grew closer, the faint sounds of screams now working there way into Jonas' ears. The billowing pillar of smoke was coming from the center of town, the market, a place that likely had not changed much in the four hundred odd years between this time and Jonas' home. Following closely now Jonas turned the corner into the market. On normal days it would be bustling with activity, the stalls, all tents some colored fantastically, were there but the people were not. The smell of smoke was strong here, in the distance the building in flames visible. Ahead the screams of a young girl cut though the scene, ahead of her four green fiends stood, hate in their eyes, foam dripping from their fanged jaws.

Chapter I ~ The Call of Destiny
The four imps, their green skin seemingly unnatural had cornered the young girl, she had fallen to her knees feeling no way of escape. As they neared, their fangs showing, they were startled by the new comers arriving. The imps had felt the tide of combat about to begin and they moved away from the girl, the focus shifting the the heroes who had come to her rescue.

We get the first attacks, though I will generally attack out of order when I feel the need to do so.

  The Call of Destiny

The huge explosion had caught everybody by surprise. They looked over at Truce Village and saw the mass of thick, grey smog soaring up into the sky. One by one the group turned to one another before Peter, Soren and Jonas ran off towards the village. Lena was not much of a fighter but she had once been a highly skilled dancer. Not the most willing of ballerinas, her parents had put her in ballet school from an early age. It had given her the ability to move quickly and with great agility but there was not much strength behind the movements. She had often used her skills to avoid attacks from monsters encountered on her travels, as opposed to physical offence.
She watched for a little while as the others continued forward and then made the valiant decision to follow suit. She had to do something to help now that she was here. Soon, they came across a young girl who had been surrounded by disgusting looking green goblins. Lena looked to Jonas, Peter and Soren who were all ready to battle. She drew her crossbow and took aim, finding a target in the nearest goblin to her. Firing, she managed to hit with a direct hit!

  The Call of Destiny
The idea of his village being attacked pained Peter greatly. The castle wouldn't get help out here quick enough if things got bad and this was his responsibility. He was elated to hear the people from the future were rushing to help out. Peter wanted to say thanks to everyone, but he had to rush and there would be time for thanks when it's over.

The scene caused a sharp pain to shoot through Peter. The monsters chasing the little girl was too much and even though they had focused their attention on the approaching group that didn't mean it would be there forever. Running and jumping around the group, Peter positioned himself between the imps and the girl, his hood coming off without noticing in the movement. He turned his head towards the girl, his ears pointing straight up,
“Go find your parents. Your safe now.” Peter smiled as calm as he could and looked back towards the imps. His right hand went to his hip under his cloak and pulled out his gun, aiming and firing in one motion at imp A.

Your right Clerith, most likely. Our normal attacks are too weak to hurt them, but flame toss would do some damage to them. Also, how would double techs work exactly if you can't contact the person prior to posting? Like for me aura whirl is possible, should I just do aura and say I'm open for aura whirl or the warrior do the same for cyclone?

Chapter I ~ The Call of Destiny

Jonas was taken aback by the presence of the imps, they were odd looking, similar to the people of Medina in his time, by clearly more hostile. Looking around the scene of the square he wondered how this could have happened, how fiends had made it all the way to Truce Village. Clearly something wasn't right, the ripples of time were shifting, the past changing all around them.
” Something feels wrong about this. ”Jonas spoke to Soren as he watched Peter who had reached the scene first put himself between the imps and the young girl who quickly got to her feet and ran off. ” Let's get in there and help he and the young lady out. ” He continued to speak to Soren.
Moving forward Jonas traversed the distance between himself and the imps quickly. He brandished his blade, sweeping it in an arc down on one of the imps, which stood less than four feet tall. Still moving he lept back, hoping to put a bit of distance between himself and the group of imps.
” It's best if we lower their numbers, focus on one imp at a time. ”Jonas spoke loud enough for the entire party to hear, his blade held ahead of him, ready to defend.

  The Call of Destiny
Soren rushed through the village, moving through vaguely familiar streets, as he closed in upon the source of the danger. It was a strange thing to see the village as it was now, so different and yet so similar. If an opportunity presented itself he would have to take the chance to explore and speak with the locals. Once they arrived at the heart of the problem such thoughts were quickly forgotten though, the immediate threat snatching his full attention.
Nearby there were four fiends, closing in upon a young girl who screamed in terror. As they arrived the monsters turned their attention toward the group, moving away from the girl in preparation for a fight. Soren felt a wave of relief wash over him as they moved away from her, though the dangerous look about him might say otherwise. Soren glared daggers at the four beasts, and if looks could kill his most certainly would have.
“You’re right,” Soren agreed as he unsheathed his katana, casting the sheath aside for the time being. “but there’s no time to worry about such things.” Soren idly stood by while the others attacked in concert, waiting for the ideal moment to attack. Peter and Lena were seemingly unsuccessful in doing anything more than annoying the beast, but Jonas’ attack was a completely different matter. It hadn’t been a lethal blow, but it was successful in leaving the creature vulnerable.
Soren dashed forward quickly as possible, closing the gap between them with ease. Soren held the weapon with both hands and slashed toward the sky in a deadly rising cut, which then transcended into a downward slash at the peak of the swing. Soren was quick to leap away in preparation for any counter attack that may come. “Jonas, we may need to combine our efforts. What do you say?”

P.S. Hey, John. I finally got a critical. Yeesh, that took long enough.

  The Call of Destiny

The bolt from Lena's crossbow hit the hard shell of the Imp's skin and rebound into a nearby tree. It seemd she would have to try something else. Reaching into her bag, she found her flammable concoctions that had come in handy so many times before. Incredibly simple to make, she had managed to develop a formula for creating a mini explosion of fire that helped her out in such situations. Her crossbow was not always going to be able to protect her so this was the perfect last resort.
Pulling one out, she prepared to launch it at the imp. Everybody else had managed to successfully attack. Peter's attack did not seem to be so effective but Jonas and Soren had definitely caused some damage. Now it was her turn. With all of her might, she threw the small device through the air, and watched as it exploded into a mass of burning embers as it struck the imp.

” Take that! The imp reeled back in pain, clearly hurt by the sudden explosion. SHe now knew that this was the method to defeating them that she could use.

Chapter I ~ The Call of Destiny
The first imp fell, it's body bady beaten by the successive attacks. Looking on their fallen comrade, and realizing the ease in which he had been taken down, the imps backed away. Shifting gaze among each other the thought was unified, they would flee. Turning away from the party the imps began to run south.

The chase is on.
