I just wanted to leave a thread here for everyone kinda laying out the future of the RP here. We've come about 1/3rd of the way through the planned story I have to tell. It's taken us about a year to do this lol, with some hiatus time in there obviously. At our current pace of RPing it'll take us well over another year to even get close to the ending, which is worrisome as another round of hiatus or who knows what could easily derail us even more. I really want to complete the main arc of this RP, it's been great so far. I think to do this we should try to be a little more commited to posting timely. I'd like us to get 3-4 rounds in a week (12-16 posts) which would about double our current pace and put us to a point where we can realistically finish this thing in under a year. (more arcs could follow, it doesn't mean the END of a FF7 RP just of this arc)

I have two suggestions for how we achieve this.

1) We just get our post order down and make sure we post when it's our round in less than a day. IE everyone keeps up with the RP regularly.
2) We switch to a post after two others have posted format like the event RPs on CT and elsewhere. This would break up any post order and allow a little more freedom and possible cut down on long durations between posts. But of course could cause stall if someone neglects the RP for more than a couple days (being behind, or leaving an important RP decision waiting)

Trigun Project Seeds ran pretty successfully in a 'once every two' format, and it was a similar size and scale to this. I'm gonna leave this decision up to everyone, since we're all important to this RP we all should have equal say in how it continues.

I'm not too keen on the latter option to be honest, John. If any of us were to forego posting for very long under the two-post method it would (in my opinion) hurt the story more than it would help. It isn't a big deal to ignore/write out a character in Chrono Trigger with the larger cast, but here it would really hurt the quality of the writing if we were to try and remove any of our characters out of the story. With that being said though, obviously it would keep the story moving forward, which is in itself pretty important.

If I were to vote I'd try for a happy medium between the two–give someone a day to post, and if they don't the next person in order would post. Example: It's my post, and I decide to be a bum and don't post. Ideally the next person in order would post (in this case, Griff) and the story moves on and I'd just have to do a bit of catch-up in my next post. Something like that, I guess?

Alternatively we could try something like the old Fortress days, where we get together and take turns rolling out posts but I'm not sure that works with everyone's schedules.

I'm happy to pick up the pace. I can RP daily but then, as with Raiden, if I'm late for whatever reason then the next person can go. I'm not sure what time zones you are all on but I am on BST. I thought it was GMT but apparantly in the Summer we are GMT +1.
Sorry for going off topic but it doesn't seem worth creating a new discussion – where would I find our characters bios?

I kind of like the 2 post method because there are times where there's a delay and when it finally gets rolling again I forget to look since it's been slow and I don't get a heads up so I won't notice for a few days, but I think San's idea will work best. The next person in order gets to the end of the next day the post is done, if it's really early then that day. After that, the next person posts and the person who was skipped posts when they can. That shouldn't delay things too much unless it happens alot. I know sometimes I'm told towards the end of the day and I'm too tired and can't post. This will at the very least shorten delays.

Alright so it seems we'll go with San's suggestion. I agree it should at least keep things moving a little better if were are all aware of how posting should work.

As of this point when it's your post and you haven't posted in 24 hours since the last post or so you can be skipped and jump back in out of order. We should all try to not have to do that as much as possible though. If we get it to a point where the RP is seeing 2 posts a day on average it should move us along at a pace fast enough to actually complete this thing.

For this new posting setup to have any effect everyone is going to have to pay more attention to who has posted. I say this because it's wednesday and there have been just 2 posts in the RP since last week (Sunday is when I reset the weekly posts).

As it stands, if you haveb't posted 12 hours after the last person before you in the order has posted then the next person should go ahead and prepare to skip them.
If they still have posted 12 hours after the person that skipped them posted they should be skipped for the entire round and the next person in the order should post.

We have to get this RP moving. We have been doing this chaper for 3 months almost and we're only 70ish posts in. That's less than 5 posts a week. We can't get anywhere at this pace.
