experience, which determines when your character levels up, is probably the most important factor in character growth and is something all players will undoubtedly always have a close eye on. in the final fantasy universe characters range from level one (which is what you start as) to level 100 and they gain a level every time they eclipse 1,000 experience (ie, level two is gained at 1,000 exp, level three at 2,000, etc). Below you will find all the experience and ability point (ap) info, if you have any questions about gaining experience please post them on the ( questions board )

experience and ap from solo and group role-playing sessions that do not involve a DM are determined by word counts (you can find our word counter here). the formulas for solo and group RPs can be found below.
›› ( solo rp formula ) :: ( words/4 = experience gained. words/100 = ability points gained.)
›› ( group rp formula ) :: ( words/3 = experience gained. words/75 = ability points gained.)

player vs. player combat (or any number of players vs. each other in a party based battle) are unique in the experience and ability points awarded for both wins and loses. word count is still a factor combat experience but additional experience and ability points are added based on several combat situations. below you will find a table for the additional gains, please remember you add these to the normal group rp gains in both single vs. single and party vs. party battles.

player vs. player party vs. party **
lvl dif. exp gain ap gain lvl dif. exp gain ap gain
5+ 100 5 5+ 200 10
= 200 10 = 400 20

many times in site events and the chronicle the dungeon master will deal out experience, which is based on actual player actions and set experience for challenges (like beast combat or a puzzle for example). the dungeon master does not have a character and thus awards experience only based on his judgement of the player actions, meaning being inventive and attempting to solve problems in a creative way will bring more experience your way. DM experience is in now way given out based on quality of writing or role-playing, it’s solely based on player action.
